SMK’s Changes in Automotive Edge Connectors
Board-to-wire connectors used for inter-unit and board-to-board connections have been replaced by edge-mount connectors. By replacing these connectors, the height of the connectors on the board can be reduced from 15mm to a maximum of 5mm, thereby lowering the overall equipment height and reducing the overall weight by minimizing the number of connectors.
Example of use:
Connections within the secondary battery module, connections between ECUs, and vehicle light connections.
